The TeliaSonera Institute

The TeliaSonera Institute at the Stockholm School of Economics

In early 2004 TeliaSonera endowed the TeliaSonera Professorship in Entrepreneurship at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) and at the same time the TeliaSonera Institute at SSE Riga (TSI) was founded. The Institute is a think tank whose aims are to promote and undertake high quality policy-oriented research in the fields of entrepreneurship, telecom and information technology as well as to promote entrepreneurship in Latvia.

BICEPS collaborates closely with the Institute in its research activities. The Institute publishes reports and discussion papers on policy-related issues in the TeliaSonera Institute Discussion Paper Series. To further stimulate policy discussion the Institute organises the SSE Riga TeliaSonera Business Days focussing on policy-oriented issues. For each Business Day, TSI prepares a special report that is published in the Discussion Papers Series.

TSI is responsible for the Latvian participation in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, which puts Latvia’s entrepreneurial activity in an international context. It provides information about the structure of entrepreneurial activity such as the role of women as entrepreneurs or the regional distribution of entrepreneurship.
